Additional Therapies

Land based Exercise

Therapeutic exercise can provide a wide range of benefits for dogs recovering from injury, surgery or chronic degenerative conditions. It can be used to rebuild strength, improve muscle tone and proprioception, prevent atrophy, and increase range of motion, flexibility and endurance. In contrast to water-based therapy, in which the water itself helps support part of the dog’s weight during activities, land based exercise requires the dog to bear all its weight and move on land. Generally speaking, land based exercises are more functional and relate more to real world activities.

Canine Massage

Canine Massage is a hands-on therapy that involves the manipulation of the soft tissue structures of the body. Canine massage provides a wide range of physical and psychological benefits for your dog such as:

  • Release of endorphins, which helps to alleviate pain
  • Reduced stress and anxiety
  • Increased circulation and lymphatic flow
  • Relaxation of tight muscles
  • Reduced swelling and edema
  • Elimination of toxic waste before it builds up in muscles and joints.
